Oma Lynda Ekwem

LL.M, MCArb, ACIS

Board & Governance Adviser · Arbitrator · Negotiation Consultant · Real Estate Adviser

Oma Lynda Ekwem is a legal practitioner, negotiator, and business strategist with over 20 years’ experience spanning litigation, commercial law, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, arbitration, and real estate advisory. As Principal Partner of OAA Law in Lekki, Lagos, she leads a full-service practice that brings legal rigour and commercial instinct to the table in equal measure — advising individuals, entrepreneurs, and corporate clients on the deals, disputes, and decisions that shape their businesses.

Her career has moved between courtroom and boardroom. She began in litigation-focused chambers, including Adedipe & Adedipe (SAN) & Co. between 2007 and 2009, handling matters ranging from fundamental human rights to admiralty and election petitions, before moving into corporate legal leadership within Nigeria's oil and gas sector — including as Corporate Services/Legal Manager at Amazon Energy between 2014 and 2016, before returning to private practice with Adeniyi Akintola (SAN) & Company from 2016 to 2018 and founding OAA Law in Lekki, Lagos, where she has been Principal Partner since 2018. Along the way, she was part of the team that negotiated the statutory requirement for oil and gas companies to pay 1% of contract value to the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) — successfully persuading International Oil Companies to absorb the cost rather than pass it on to contractors, a result that reflected her broader approach: protect the client's position through strategic negotiation before it ever reaches a courtroom.

That same instinct now shapes her real estate advisory work, where she guides clients through property acquisition, due diligence, and transaction structuring with an eye for the legal and commercial risk most people miss.

Oma Lynda is a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association, an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSAN), a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators, and an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators. She holds an LL.B from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and an LL.M.
