About OAA Law
OAA Law
When the Matter Matters, Experience Matters.
Our Story
OAA LAW is a premium strategy-led full-service law firm providing legal, commercial and dispute-resolution solutions to individuals, businesses and organizations across Nigeria.
OAA Law was founded on a straightforward conviction: that legal advice is only useful when it is delivered with a clear view of the commercial consequence. Too many Nigerian businesses receive technically correct opinions that leave them no closer to a decision. The firm exists to close that gap.
The practice reflects the career of its Principal Partner. Oma Lynda Ekwem began in litigation-focused chambers in Port Harcourt and Abuja, handling matters from fundamental human rights applications to admiralty and election petitions. She then moved into corporate legal leadership in Nigeria's oil and gas sector — as Commercial Adviser and Contract Administrator at Suffolk Petroleum Services, and from 2014 as Corporate Services and Legal Manager at Amazon Energy Limited, where contracts involving Mobil Producing Nigeria, NAPIMS, Chevron, Total E&P, SPDC and AGIP were routine work.
That combination — advocate in court, commercial lead inside a company — shapes how the firm advises today. We know how a contract reads to a judge, and we know how it reads to a project manager under pressure to deliver.
The firm's philosophy is easy to state and demanding to practise: help clients acquire, protect, and maximise value. Negotiate first. Document properly. Litigate decisively where it is warranted, and not before.

What sets us apart
Every matter is handled directly by the Principal Partner. Clients speak to the lawyer making the decisions.
Advice framed around the deal, the cash position and the relationship — not only the statute.
One adviser who already knows your company's history, contracts and assets when something goes wrong.
Sensitive matters handled quietly. Most of our work comes from clients we have advised for years.
